Founded by Ally Hammock and D I Hughes, The Nuthatch is a little lit mag and poetry press just crying out for mad musings and thought-provoking perspectives.

From the surreal, transportive and psychedelic to the vivid, varied, uplifting, and downright gritty, The Nuthatch is a space for those with different, diverse, and quirky voices. We want to roll against the literary grain and champion writers with raw talent and something to say—poets or prosaic pugilists free from the shackles of the academic elite.

If you love words and have something colourful to share, we want to read it. We run a quarterly themed issue as well as a weekly spot for poetry with no limitations on form, style or subject matter. In fact, the wilder, weirder, and more whimsical—the better.
